Joker in the Pack

Dress// Eight Sixty
Shoes// Payless
Glasses// Carol's Dream Boutique

Happy Friday! The week flew by for me, every day I've gotten so much done and I feel like I've earned a great weekend ahead of me, partying, going to the beach, and a dinner date with my boo <3

My mom got me this dress. I love when she buys me clothes, she has the best taste, as you may probably know from my posts from raiding her closet. Most stylish mommy ever award goes to her!

Also, since my room having it's total makeover, I'm starting to enjoy having flowers in here. Before, they just looked weird, amongst all the crap on the walls. These flowers are from the tree in the driveway, which my parents say is "my tree". And I Iove the expression on the face of that tiny nesting doll. She looks like she's in wonder and awe at the flowers in my room now.

I'm gonna go listen to Hunx and his Punx and pack some orders now.

Midge

Enid Addams

Top// Charlotte Russe
Skirt// H&M
Shoes// Steve Madden

I think this will be my party outfit for this weekend. I got these shoes about 4 years ago at Lohmans, and they gave me the worst blisters the first time I wore them so I kind of blocked them out of my head. But wearing them now feels pretty alright, so I may give them another shot. Forgiveness is key.

I'm having a great work week, making so much new stuff for the Modern Girl Blitz shop! Especially with my new crafty things section, which I am so excited about. I'm very lucky to be able to make awesome crafts as part of my job, and I don't take a second of it for granted!

Hope your having a good week too!

Found + Thrifted Bag Collection

I have a bag obsession. Many of us do, it's ok. I love rummaging through the bag section at the thrift store.

Here are some of my favorites!

1// This bag is actually an old binocular case that I found under a bunch of crap in one of our many junk closets. So it was free! I kinda like it as a cross-body style purse. The one day I put together some equestrian outfit I will use this bag.

2// I thrifted this black clutch recently. it goes great with the outfit I posted previous to this one. I love the shiny details on the edges and it surprisingly holds a lot of stuff. I also don't own a lot of clutches and I love going out, so this was a great buy.

3// I also thrifted this red bag recently, I love cross body bags because my hands are free to like, drink and smash the patriarchy and stuff.

4// I forgot I had this bulls eye bag, also thrifted. I like it because it reminds me of one of my fictional idols, Tank Girl!

5// Last but not least, I found this Hello Kitty suitcase just across the street from me at a garage sale. I can't wait until I have some where to go away for a few days so I can use it. Ever plan events based around a new clothing item or accessory? Yeah.

Thats it for now, Later!

Seafoam Green Overload

Top // H&M
Collar, socks, skirt // F21
Shoes // Steve Madden

I finally got one of these 40's inspired tops. It was cheap as dirt!
I got this collar a couple of weeks ago and I'm finally wearing it today. Upon further inspection, I could've totally crafted it...oh well!

Clothing thought of the day: I don't really understand why some folks get so hung up on bras/bra straps showing. I think it looks cool, and it's just another way to accessorize an outfit. Just one grrrl's opinion!

I'm working pretty hard today, hence the sipping of the iced coffee..coffee is magic!

Later gators

Bumble Bee Emergency

Dress // Anthropologie
Necklace // Thrifted
Shoes // Target/DIY
I <3 Zines button // gqtales.etsy.com

One time there was a bumble bee stuck in our house, and my mom freaked out because she think I'm allergic to bee stings. I've never been stung, but for some reason she just still thinks I'm allergic. She called my dad into the room to take care of it calling it a "Bumble Bee Emergency".

I just think thats a hilarious combination of words. Bumble Bee Emergency.

Anyways, yesterday I finally finished the second issue of my perzine Scatterbrain. Its such a good feeling to finish a zine, it's like this awesome sense of accomplishment and relief. They are such a labor of love too, so when it's finally done and bound I just like to hold it and look at it like it's my baby. (you can find this issue of Scatterbrain here)

Now I'm off to photograph some new items for Candy Striped Vintage! Excited!

Dressies on my Dressy!

Dress // Anthropologie
Belt // Thrifted
Shoes // Steve Madden
Necklace // Vintage via Grandma

Wanna know a secret? Nighties are way cheaper than dresses. Don't judge me but I'm actually wearing sleepwear as a dress! Especially in such a pricey store, if I find a nightie that can totally pass as a dress, why the hell not? They're like half the price.

A little style tidbit from your beloved Midge. Sleepwear as outer wear! Who would know, anyways? Unless you're like me and feel the need to tell everyone.

Everything is Prettier in Montreal Part 3

On our second to last day, we went to the botanical garden, queue cliche pretty flower pictures!

And pretty floors.

On our last day we kinda just walked around the city. Over the entire trip I've noticed that the ad design and graphic design in general in Montreal is amazing!
I feel like the Montreal-ers have design in their blood or something, it was seldom that I saw an ugly ad there.

We went for one pricey drink at the bar in the hotel and mapped out how many miles we walked. I forget the number...but it was alot.

That is it... till next time, dear MTL!

Everything is Prettier in Montreal Part 2

We metro-ed over to Mont Royal to get some brunch on our second day it was the most amazing breakfast ever..eggs IN french toast. WHAT.

Then Mike wanted to go to the nerd games tore he used to regular, so I he bought me an ugly doll. Because I'm 5.

We fell into a love/hate relationship.. let the absurd instrgram photo series ensue:

Making prank calls to the front desk // nursing terrible hangovers // ordering hotel porno // getting drunk by noon.
Bad Girl.

Then we climbed the mountain! The mountain had stairs, so it wasn't real hiking.

Climbing up all those stairs was HARD but the view was pretty worth it.

The next day was our friend's wedding, but I got zero pictures because I didn't even bother bringing my purse.

But, theres more to come soon!

Midge

Everything is Prettier in Montreal Part 1

So, I'm back! Sad, but it's good to be back to work and all that. My work is pretty awesome, so I can't complain.

Montreal was amazing, it was a much needed vacation for the both of us. We did a lot of walking and day drinking. Here's what I documented on our first day...

We went to the Old Port, a part on Montreal I've never been to, and I've been to Montreal atleast 20 times visiting Mike.

As I said, we went to the Old port which has lots of pretty doors and buildings to take pictures of.

Everything just sounds prettier in French...even the most mundane stuff.

We then checked out the port part...

After that we decided because we were on vacation we should do some day-drinking and bar hop! Along the way saw some cool street art.

In Canada, they put hard liquor in their beer. IT'S AWESOME. I could only have one at this place because I like being able to stand.

We took the train to more downtown-ish and found these guys. They were cool. We also found a DIY compass.

Then we found more beer and then got dinner! The end, til Part two!
