Hello, Satan!

Top // Thrifted
Necklace // Some small store in Montauk
Skirt // H&M
Boots // H&M

Hello! It's been a while, this past week has be SO intense and stressful.
Being as I work at such a kid friendly place, I had to work like 3x the amount of hours I do on a normal week, cause of the February Break. I could barely sleep, with me preparing for the NYC Feminist Zinefest, which was this past Saturday. I was working on getting ready for on that before my other job, then coming home and working some more, binding zines and such and making TONS of copies. It was out of control. I think I worked at least 15 hours everyday last week.
But I did it! The zinefest was such a blast! It was my first, so I was a bit nervous, but more excited than anything else. I was so happy with how the day turned out, I was able to have 2 whole new zines for the fest. I met, traded and talked to so many cool folks, I actually traded this cute brooch with Amber from Fight Boredom, who is the sweetest. I also got a water color painting of myself in exchange for some zines. All the stuff I got fro  the fest were trades, I didn't really get a chance to take a look around, I was on my ass almost the entire time. Oh well..
My bestie Rhiannon from Bakerhi joined me and sold some of her amazing mint chocolate cookies, which were a huge hit to all the feminist zine fest go-ers and zinesters (check her blog for recipes and such!)
I took a few pictures, but they were with my film hipster fish-eye camera, so I will be posting them when I get the film developed, along with all the stuff I accumulated through all the awesome trades I made.
Yesterday I had a well deserved day in bed watching all the TV I DVRed from last week that I missed out on. But today I'm back in business, making things and packing up those orders!

Feels good to be back to normal!
Until the next zinefest...

Date Night

Flats // Steve Madden

I actually took these pictures on Sunday, but I've been so swamped lately that I'm posting them now. Womp womp.
Anyways, this is what I wore out on my date night with Mike. We went and got some vegan noms and did a bit of bar hopping. Not too much boozin' though, we're adults now and both had work on Presidents Day. Boo!
I bought this dress at the Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair. It's definitely one of my favorites. Do you have those favorite items of clothing that you seldom wear, with fear you'll grow tired of it? Cause I do and this dress is one of those pieces. I love it so much I barely wear it because I don't wanna get sick of it!
So, this week for me has been pretty intense. I'm working extra  long hours at my day job this week as well as preparing for the NYC feminist zine fest this Saturday. So basically I'm working all day, and cutting and folding zines and making buttons, stickers, and such by night. Along with packing all of my etsy orders and all that. I'm so beat, but I'm BEYOND pumped for the zine fest.
Any of you lovely followers going? Come say hi of you are!

Gone Thrifting

My recent thrifty finds from my trip to Savers this past week.

The Shoes // I saw these in a size 6 and was so disappointed that they squeezed by feet beyond oblivion, but behold they also had a pair in an 8! What are the odds at a thrift store?
On Valentines Day I made a last minute liquor store trip wearing these shoes. I felt like hot shit, strutting in my retro barbie heels, picking up some booze.

Dress// This fits like a glove. It feels like it was made for me. I may wear it tomorrow on my date night in NYC with Mike. I love 90's floral mini dresses. Tight ones.

Top// I swear I've wanted a striped boat neck quarter length shirt ever since I saw Winona Ryder in Girl, Interrupted. And I finally got it.

Frame// I was actually just looking for some frames for the endless amounts of  prints I bought on my latest Etsy shopping frenzy, and I didn't really notice the image in the frame till I got home. I kinda love it so it's staying in there.

Valentine's Obsessed

Dress // H&M
Locket // Grandmother's
Glasses // Carol's Dream Boutique
Ring // Came with Urban Decay Nail Polish
Belt // Thrifted
Flats // Steve Madden

I'm really super-duper unnaturally excited for Valentine's Day this year. I've been with my boyfriend Mike for 3 1/2 years, but this will be our first Valentine's Day together, because we were long distance the majority of our relationship.
So I'm really getting overly into it today, hence how intensely pink and red I look today. I got this dress for today, I wanted something pink and cutesy to wear. And I'm the epitome of four eyed for fashion as well..these glasses don't even have my prescription lenses in them- they're just clear! But I'm in love with the outrageous cat eye.
So, I'm just at home working waiting for Mike to get home from work. Our Valentine's Day will consist of there main things :
  • Pizza
  • Margaritas
  • John Waters movies on the big screen TV

Oh, we fancy alright. I made him this card:

Happy Valentine's Day ...or as I sometimes call it, Severed Heads Day (google it) everyone!

Outfit 2/9

Top // Fred Perry
Skirt // F21
Scarf // Gifted
Locket // Grandmother's
Shoes // Steve Madden

I was so happy with myself when I put together this outfit, I think the necklace under the collar is so cute, and the scarf kind of just tied the look all together. I always have such a hard time making sure my bangs don't look weird when I tie scarfs like this on my head, but today I finally got it right. Usually I get them tied in with the know and it drives me up the wall.
I've decided I'm going to grow my hair out. I want a badass beehive! And Betty bangs. But I know once it gets long again I'm going to get frustrated with styling it everyday and then cut it all off again..so it goes!
Well, I'm exhausted from work so it's time for me to pass the f out.

Me and My Non-Jason Wu Dress

Dress // Target/Not Jason Wu
Shoes // ZigiGirl
Locket // Grandmother's

Yesterday I took a drive to corporate monster Target, in hopes of getting some stuff from their Jason Wu line, but alas, the shelves were pretty much cleared. The line has only been out  a day! I could only IMAGINE what that place must have been like on Sunday. I'll pass. So I got this kitchy tropical print dress instead, 25 bucks! I like the orange rope belt, it's a cute touch. Also, I love elastic waist bands. I don't care what ANYONE says.

That's all for now, I'm going to go screen print some goodies for my shop!

Outfit 2/3

Top // Anthropologie
Skirt // Zara
Flats // Steve Madden
I almost just typed Steve Martin AGAIN! Jeez...
This is what I wore yesterday, I'm in love with the quirky-ness of this shirt. I'm also partial to 3/4 sleeves.

I'm really craving some new clothes, it's been months and moths since I've been clothes shopping, I've been putting all my money into crafty supplies and stuff. I love going out shopping on Superbowl Sunday because all the stores are EMPTY. Everyones home watching people run into each other and really long commercials while eating chicken wings. It's so great.

What are your Non-Superbowl Sunday plans?

It's So Nice Out I'm Scared

Top // Cable & Gauge
Skirt // Forever 21
Shoes // Steve Madden

I almost caught myself typing "Steve Martin" instead of "Steve Madden". Shows how much of  a "fashionista" I am...

Anyways, if you're in the North East like I am you probably had a lot of fun playing outside today like I did. Happy February, it's 60 degrees! I'm not really complaining but it is very strange to be in a t-shirt in winter be be fine. But it was sure mighty nice. I was able to sit at my desk, with the window open, with a fresh breeze...the best feeling in the world.

Also, I totally wasn't able to wear these shoes all day, I'm a heel wuss. But they sure are some beauts. And, not to self, I really gotta wear sunglasses next time I take pictures on such a sunny day. Squint central right here!
